Max poplin is a superb base fabric for all textile and quilt artists.  The preferred fabric of Australia's beloved art quilter - Gloria Loughman, it has a fine close weave that makes it similar to batik fabrics that do not fray when used in raw edge applique.  PFD it takes dye and ink beautifully.
