Introducing Rainbow Stash: Spin the Wheel, a playful, educational, and absolutely addictive year-long textile art challenge that explores the colour wheel month by month.

Every month, your creative journey begins with:

🎡 A Random “Spin” Colour
A starting colour chosen from an 12-segment colour wheel—keeping every month fresh, unexpected, and fun.

🎨 A Colour Relationship Prompt
Think triadic, analogous, monochromatic, complementary, split-complementary and more! These prompts guide how you build your palette and help you truly understand colour interaction.

✂️ Your Monthly Artwork
Use the colour + prompt to create one 8" art textile (or a larger feature piece if it’s your turn in the roster).

Whether you're new to colour theory or a seasoned maker wanting deeper practice, this challenge is structured to gently expand your skills while supporting freedom, play, and personal style.

The colour wheel would be an excellent toolkit accessory for this challenge.  Good colour wheels are easily available and we suggest you look for one that had good visuals of the colour groupings. (some colour wheels focus on colour mixing.. we will not be covering that in this challenge)

The 2025 Rainbow Stash Hero Colour challenge and the display images are from the 2024 Stash Buster Project's exhibition which used 2 colours and a monthly word prompt.
